Leaked Images of the iPhone 15 Pro Show a Single Volume and Mute Button

iPhone 15 Pro Max Leak photo According to leaked CAD pictures revealed in a video on the Chinese version of TikTok and posted on Twitter by ShrimpApplePro, the next-generation iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a unified volume button and a mute button, as previously predicted.

Both volume and mute buttons are said to be solid-state. Instead of moving physically, the buttons would get haptic input from two extra Taptic Engines inside the iPhone to replicate the sensation of movement, similar to the Home button on the current iPhone SE or the Force Touch trackpad on current MacBooks.

The iPhone 15 Pro versions are anticipated to include a single elongated button for volume up or down adjustment rather than separate volume up and down buttons. The mute switch, which has been a part of the iPhone since its debut in 2007, is anticipated to be replaced with a mute button that can be used to turn the iPhone's ringer on or off as desired.

Although the next iPhone series from Apple isn't scheduled to launch until this summer, there have been several early leaks this year. Dynamic Island and Ceramic Shield are anticipated for both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, however speculations say that the iPhone 15 Pro will have lower bezels, solid state buttons, and 8GB of RAM.

While the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will continue to use the A16 Bionic and 6GB of RAM, the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to have an A17 Bionic processor manufactured using TSMC's 3nm technology. All four variants are said to include Qualcomm's 5G Snapdragon X70 modem and a USB-C connection.
